Japan Shepherding Care Fund
When missionaries answer God's call to serve in Japan, they leave behind family, friends, familiar culture, and support networks. While their ministry is focused on sharing the hope of Christ, they also face unique challenges—including culture shock, loneliness, burnout, family pressures, and unexpected crises.
The Shepherding Care Fund exists to ensure that our missionaries are not serving alone.
Through this fund, you help provide the care, encouragement, and practical support our missionaries need to thrive in long-term ministry. Your partnership helps provide:
All-JEMS missionary retreats where missionaries can rest, reconnect, and encourage one another.
Professional counseling and other wellness resources.
Emergency assistance when unexpected financial needs arise.
Dedicated staff who support, advocate for, and shepherd our missionaries.
Ongoing administrative support for JEMS Japan through a full-time staff member, enabling us to strengthen ministry in Japan and invest in future Japanese Christian leaders.
Healthy missionaries are more effective missionaries. By caring for those who serve, you are helping sustain Gospel ministry throughout Japan. Your prayers and generosity provide a vital safety net, a source of encouragement, and a reminder that our missionaries are deeply valued and supported.
We are also seeking to start a “JEMS Japan Mount Hermon camp” to minister to the Japanese through a “Mount Hermon” type experience.

Your gift to the Shepherding Care Fund helps equip, encourage, and care for our missionaries so they can continue sharing the hope of Christ across Japan.
Currently we are about $75,000 short of our $150,000 support-raising goal. A $100-$150 donation helps to cover the cost of one counseling session. $500-1000 helps to cover the cost of one family to go to a JEMS All-missionary camp. Please prayerfully consider becoming a recurring donor at $25, $50, $75 or more a month so we can provide the encouragement our missionaries need and deserve. Please pray for the missionaries in the field. Together, let’s shepherd them well.
