I have the distinct privilege of being the JEMS Co-Executive Director of International Missions. In this role, I have the responsibility to expand our ministry in Japan and South America.
I receive a salary from JEMS (that is, I don't have to support raise). However, my level of travel has increased due to my new position. As a result, my hope is to raise my own personal ministry expenses. These expenses include airfare, treating missionaries to meals and purchasing “omiyage” to take to Japan. I also need to go to Japan more often since we are in the process of becoming a non-profit organization there.
Truthfully, I first and foremost covet your prayers. I am seeking faithful prayer warriors who will intercede on my behalf as I discern God’s will for JEMS in Japan and South America. There is truly a spiritual battle going on (Eph. 6:10-20). I covet your prayers for safety as I travel, but also for the leading of the Holy Spirit as I meet to encourage our missionaries and national pastors.
When you join my ministry team, know that you are directly helping me encourage our missionaries. This might involve just sitting and listening to a missionary. Or treating a missionary family to dinner so the mom doesn't have to cook that night. But in so doing, you and I become the hands and feet of Christ offering concrete encouragement to our missionaries and national pastors. My passion is for our missionaries to “thrive,” and not just “survive” in Japan. Let’s pray for healthy missionaries to expand God's Kingdom.
My yearly ministry expenses are about $10,000-12,000. Thank you for your prayerful consideration to join me in encouraging our missionaries.
