Rev John Katagi, JEMS Director of Strategic Development
Pastor John Katagi comes to JEMS with over twenty years of pastoral ministry experience. He previously served with JEMS for eight years in the 1990's as the Director of South America Missions. His professional experience has included six years of administration and operations management with the Japanese American National Museum. More recently he served as pastor of the Japanese American Christian Chapel (Celebration) in Camarillo, CA while serving concurrently in a part-time capacity with JEMS. Pastor John is delighted to return to full-time service with JEMS, continuing his longtime relationship of service to the Nikkei church in South America.
Justine Morey, South
America Missions Coordinator
Justine Morey graduated in 2009 frm Wheaton
College (Illinois) with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in
Bible. After
graduating, she spent six months in the city of Marilia, in the state
of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She volunteered with a Free Methodist church
teaching English and soccer classes, participating in church activities
and ministering to the people and families of Marilia.
Upon
returning from her six months of service in Brazil, Justine decided
to continue her work with South America missions and
joined the staff of JEMS. She is delighted to continue serving the
people and churches of South America, and looks forward to the
work God has for her at JEMS.
Darryl
Wong, JEMS Missions Administrator
Darryl Wong graduated in the year 2000 from Fuller Theological Seminary with an MA in Cross-Cultural Studies. He started serving at JEMS in 2001. Darryl grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Southern California in the early 1990’s. He has been involved in mission activities since 1994, when he first served as an English conversation teacher in Japan.
Darryl has a significant role in the recruitment and training of JEMS missionaries, and is involved with the assignment of workers to churches overseas.
